The 9 Steps to Mu Alpha Sigma, Inc., Membership

Step 1:  Request to attend the Prospective Candidate Interview.  Must be a current student in a martial arts program for the past six (6) months or a Blackbelt (with proof of certification).  (Email your request to mualphasigmainc@gmail.com or complete our Info Form on our webpage – www.masigma.org.)  Interview requests are only accepted the first two weeks of February, May, and September.  Requests received after the 14th of the designated month are moved to the next Prospective Candidate Interview. 

 

 

Step 2:  Complete the application and submit with the requested documentation.  Late applications will not be reviewed; you must request another interview at the next membership drive.

 

Step 3:  Attend the 2-day mandatory pre-RUSH workshops and pass the pre-RUSH exam with a minimum score of 80%.  If you fail the exam, you must wait until the next membership drive and redo the workshop series in order to retake the exam.  Upon passing the examination, pay the initiation fee (non-refundable) by deadline.

 

Step 4:  Participate in the 4-Week RUSH by completing a series of assignments with your line sisters. 

 

Step 5:  Participate in the Crossover Ceremony (private).

 

Step 6:  Participate in the Coming-out Ceremony (public) – two weeks after Crossover Ceremony.

 

Step 7:  Complete your required Community Service Initiative with line sisters.

 

Step 8:  Submit proof of completion of your Community Service initiative to your mentor.

 

Step 9:  Once Steps 1 thru 8 have been completed, you’ll receive your official Mu Alpha Sigma, Inc., membership certificate and ID card.
